Mrs Nkechi Aforbaze needs our help!!!!

Management graduate of the Auchi Polythenic
who has been diagnosed with kidney cancer, is
seeking the sum of N2 million to access five
courses of chemotherapy prescribed to save her
from the cancer burden.
To this end, the thirty-year-old Aforbze who is
presently an applicant has appealed to
sympathetic state governments including Lagos,
Delta and Edo State, among others,
philanthropists and public-spirited Nigerians to
help raise fund needed fund to help her complete
the treatment.
According to the mother of one who resides in
Lagos, her predicaments began last year with
abdominal pain which prompted her to go for
medical checkup at a private hospital where she
was suspected to have developed kidney cancer”.
I performed the surgery at Robostin Medical
Centre at Surulere on the January 6, 2015.
Thereafter I was referred to oncologists at the
Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in
Idiaraba where the tumor was removed and
tested for the laboratory analysis. It proved
cancerous and since then, “I have been placed on
drugs.”
Oncologists in LUTH conducting the treatment,
have further prescribed six courses of
chemothepy, that would be administered with a
drug called Avastin. This drug costs N458,000 per
course. Each course of the chemotherapy will be
taken at three weeks interval.
In a letter on behalf of Aforbaze with Hospital No:
646314 issued from the Consultant Radiation
Oncologist in LUTH, Dr. Olatunji who is managing
the case of Aforbaze, dated March 26, 2015, the
cancer specialist confirmed that, “Patient is
scheduled to commence immunotherapy (Alpha
interon day 1, 3 and 5 respectively) targeted
therapy with IV and radiotherapy to Nephrectomy
bed.”
The total cost of treatment, according to Dr.
Olatunji is IV Avastin 400mg: N458,000 x 6
cycles; IV Sc a-Interferon: N150,000 x 6 cycles;
and Radiotherapy: N100,000.
Although these drugs were prescribed since
January 6, after four months of delay in the
takeoff of the treatment, “some churches and kind
Nigerians helped me to raise money which I used
to access the first course of the chemotherapy
that had been administered on me.” She added
that the total money I need now to complete to
complete the chemotherapy treatment is N2
million.
“This appeal is to generate money for this
particular treatment because I cannot afford it. I
beg government and Nigerians to come to my aid.

"Love Don't Cost A Thing" actor and host of "Yo
Mamma", Sam Sarpong has died at the age of 35.
According to US Weekly, Ed Winter who is
spokesperson for the County of Los Angeles
Medical Examiner - Coroner, confirmed that
Sarpong died on Tuesday after jumping off a
bridge.
He performed in over sixty feature films, and fifty-
five television shows, including such films as,
Carmen The Hip Hopera, Love Don't Cost a Thing,
Keeping up with the Steins, Anchor Baby, and No
Weapons in which he won best lead actor at the
San Diego Film Festival. He was a host on MTV's
Yo Momma for three seasons. He was also one of
the first Black male model for designer Tommy
Hilfiger and was the face of the brand for over six

Julius Agwu wants to open a Christian Night Club...

Ace Comedian, Julius Agwu, has openly said that
he has re-dedicated his life to God after surviving
a brain surgery.
According to him, God has given him a second
chance to life after he was pronounced dead by
doctors after a seizure he went through.
He has said he was going to lead a practical
Christian life from henceforth.
In a recent interview, he made it known that as a
man that has re-dedicated his life to God, he
would be opening a Christian nightclub at Lekki in
two months time.
The name of Julius Agwu’s club will be Believer’s
Lounge (The Tabernacle).
He said there will be no alcohol and smoking in
his lounge.
The Comedian is also going to launch a TV show
which he calls C.E.O (Christian Executive

FIFA has confirmed the list of candidates to
replace Sepp Blatter as president, with suspended
UEFA president Michel Platini’s candidature
remaining pending while former Trinidad and
Tobago captain David Nakhid was excluded.
Despite seeking a spot amongst the presidential
hopefuls, Nakhid was not on the list of candidates
confirmed by FIFA on Wednesday.

The Zurich-based organisation subsequently
explained that the former Trinidad & Tobago
captain had been excluded for irregularities in his
support.
“One of the five declarations of support for Mr
Nakhid was declared invalid as the same member
association had previously issued a declaration of
support for another candidate,” said a FIFA
spokesperson.
“In view of this, the Ad-hoc Electoral Committee
decided not to consider Mr Nakhid’s application
as it did not fulfil the required five declarations of
support.”
A replacement for Blatter – who has also been
suspended on grounds of an alleged “disloyal
payment” made by FIFA to Platini in 2011 – is to
be elected on February 26 next year with the
deadline for nominations passing on Monday.
Both Platini and Blatter deny any wrongdoing, but
the Frenchman’s bid to take the role within the
sport’s governing body will not be processed “as
long as such a ban is valid and in force”.
FIFA Ad-hoc Electoral Committee confirmed the
list of candidates on Wednesday with former
Trinidad and Tobago captain Nakhid not among
them, despite his claims to have received the
necessary five nominations from football
federations.
Alongside Platini, Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, Musa
Bility, Jerome Champagne, Gianni Infantino,
Sheikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa and Tokyo
Sexwale will all stand for election.

Former Schalke forward Chinedu Obasi has left
English Premier League side Sunderland after
manager Sam Allardyce decided not to offer him a
contract.
The 29-year-old Nigerian International  Player was
released by the Bundesliga club in the summer
after making just 10 league starts in three years.
"Obasi had a relatively successful trial but for
obvious reasons the club wants someone who
can make an immediate impact," a source close
to the player has told BBC Sport.
The free agent, who has 18 caps for Nigeria and
holds a German passport, has returned to
Germany and is now exploring other options.
"There are some interested clubs from the English
Championship because he has a lovely CV for a
freeplayer.
"He showed his creativity by scoring goals during
his Sunderland spell, a strong indication that he
will be playing football at the top level sooner
rather than later."In his three years with Schalke,
Obasi scored just four goals in 34 games in all
competitions.He was signed by Schalke after a
brief loan spell in 2012, having scored 25 goals in
91 Bundesliga appearances for German rivals
Hoffenheim.The striker previously played for
Norwegian top division side Lyn before moving to
Hoffenheim in 2007.
Obasi appeared in Nigeria's three group matches
at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.He is the
only Nigerian to have appeared in all Fifa World

New FA rules to favor CHELSEA!!!

Chelsea from relegation.
1. Chelsea will be allowed to field 13 players
during home games and 15 during away games.
2. If they win 2 consecutive corners kicks they
will be awarded a penalty.
3. Any attempt on goal will be treated as a goal..
Including off target shots.
4. If a Chelsea player is fouled, that's a straight
penalty
regardless of the position.
5. They will be allowed to make 13 substitutions.
6. They will be awarded 6 points for every match
won, 4 points for a draw n 2 points if they lose.
7. They will be allowed to field 2 or 3 goal
keepers at the same time.
8. Any attempt to tackle or mark Hazard will
result to a penalty.
9. Finally Jose Mou will be allowed to instruct the
players inside the

Pioneer Nollywood Movie, Living in Bondage is getting remade and Ramsey Noah is behind the idea...

Twenty-three years after the release of Nollywood
hit epic movie ‘Living in Bondage’, award winning
Nollywood Star Ramsey Noah in partnership
with Entertainment Entrepreneur Charles Okpaleke
are set to produce the sequel to the flick that
was the forerunner of the Nollywood
phenomenon.
Okpaleke, CEO of Play Entertainment Network, it was learnt,
has already bought the rights from Kenneth
Nnebue, the original producer and writer of the
movie that changed the architecture of the home
video industry in Nigeria.
Speaking on the remaking of the movie, Ramsey,
who is an ardent advocate for New Nollywood,
explained the need for a sequel of the movie.
“There is no way you will mention Nollywood
without talking about Living in Bondage. It is the
kickstarter for the industry I work in today . Its
ability to appeal to everyone irrespective of their
religious, cultural and social beliefs made it a
huge success. The movie addressed issues that
we couldn’t talk about then,” the actor said.
According to him, the movie Living In Bondage’s
beauty lies in the language used which is
understood by a certain part of the country, yet
was watched by many.
“So why not bring back this great movie in our
contemporary world? The film is a delight any
day. People still talk about the way Kenneth
Okonkwo killed his wife for money rituals and how
he was tormented. Don’t forget the likes of
Kanayo O. Kanayo and Bob Manuel Udokwu who
intrigued us with their roles. All these made the
movie a great hit and we are sure that the sequel
will do better,” he assured.
Okpaleke also said having the rights to produce
the sequel to Living In Bondage is a huge
milestone.
“It’s not often that we visit our roots and bring
the story in our present situation. Living in
Bondage may have its flaws then but bringing
those characters back to our present situation is
really interesting and I’m sure it will spark up
public discourse that will perhaps engineer growth
and development in the industry,” Okpaleke
stated.
In 1992, Kenneth Nnebue assembled a crop of
talented actors including Kenneth Okonkwo,
Kanayo O. Kanayo, Bob Manuel Udokwu and
Okey Ogujiefor to deliver a production that tells
stories that mirrored the myriad of issues
confronting an average Nigerian and kick-started
the film industry of today Nigeria.
Preparations are already in full swing to ensure
that the production of the remake is not only
smooth but also to record huge sales in the box
office.
The movie is estimated to gulp millions of naira
and will feature a robust cast that will bring
magic to the screens.

I have always wondered why human beings are
so hypocritical in all their doings. We tend to
superfluously condemn each other for a crime we
are equally guilty of.
A guy was rambling in alfresco how he left his
supposed girlfriend whom he termed dirty and
unorganized. I became curios and persuaded him
to explain better what he meant by the girl being
dirty and unorganized… the following are his
points and my opinion about the guy and his yeye
excuse…
Point1: she wears one under pant for two days;
which girl does that this days mehn…
My opinion: This is a guy that has just two undies
and wears one for more than a month before
changing
Point2: she has been wearing same set of
brassieres for over two months now….
My opinion: This is a guy that I was planning on
buying 3 in 1 singlet for, so that he can stop
embarrassing guys outside with his supposed
white singlet turned brown… the singlet don turn
chameleon way they change color… from white to
milk color to brown, very soon e go turn black.
My questions to the guy after the whole rambling
and noise making: Did you buy her undies and
she refuse to collect or wear them or did you give
her money to buy some and she refuse to buy
them? My guy was just looking like who wan
swallow person. Mind you, am not insinuating or
encouraging dirtiness. All i am saying is we
should be matured in handling issues and stop
accusing or criticizing others of a crime we are
equally guilty of. If you are tired of a relationship
endeavor to discuss it maturely with your partner
rather than rambling in public.

LASU approves Paternity Leave for Male Staff Members,really impressive!!!

The Lagos State University (LASU) on Monday
advised its male staff members to avails
themselves of paternity leave, approved for
workers in Lagos State’s Public Service.
The advice is contained in the university’s official
bulletin, a copy of which was made available to
the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
It noted that while deserving female members of
staff of the institution had been proceeding on
maternity leave, their male counterparts were yet
to enjoy it.
“The university authority hereby reminds members
of staff (male) of the existing Lagos State
Maternity and Paternity Leave approved for
employees in the state’s civil service.
“It would be recalled that the university authority
at its meeting on Sept. 8, 2014, considered and
approved the implementation of the new Lagos
State maternity and paternity leave for officials in
the state’s public service,’’ it said.
According to the bulletin, the male members of
staff who wish to make official request for
paternity leave are to do so on the first day of
delivery of the baby.
“In addition, for deliveries that fall on weekends,
application should be forwarded to the
establishment on the first day of work.
“Please, note that paternity leave is for the first
10 days in relation to and at the time of the first
two deliveries of a male staff’s spouse,” the
publication said.

Processed meats such as bacon, sausages and
ham – do cause cancer, according to the World
Health Organization (WHO).
Its report said 50g of processed meat a day –
less than two slices of bacon – increased the
chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%.
Meanwhile, it said red meats were “probably
carcinogenic” but there was limited evidence.
The WHO did stress that meat also had health
benefits.
Cancer Research UK said this was a reason to
cut down rather than give up red and processed
meats.
And added that an occasional bacon sandwich
would do little harm.
Processed meat is meat that has been modified
to increase its shelf-life or alter its taste, such as
by smoking, curing or adding salt or
preservatives.
It is these additions which could be increasing the
risk of cancer. High temperature cooking, such as
on a barbeque, can also create carcinogenic
chemicals.
The WHO has come to the conclusion on the
advice of its International Agency for Research on
Cancer, which assesses the best available
scientific evidence.
It has now placed processed meat in the same
category as plutonium, but also alcohol as they
definitely do cause cancer.
However, this does not mean they are equally
dangerous. A bacon sandwich is not as bad as
smoking.
“For an individual, the risk of developing
colorectal (bowel) cancer because of their
consumption of processed meat remains small,
but this risk increases with the amount of meat
consumed,” Dr Kurt Straif from the WHO said.
Estimates suggest 34,000 deaths from cancer
every year could be down to diets high in
processed meat.
That is in contrast to one million deaths from
cancer caused by smoking and 600,000 attributed
to alcohol each year.
Red meat does have nutritional value too and is a
major source of iron, zinc and vitamin B12.
However, the WHO said there was limited
evidence that 100g of red meat a day increased
the risk of cancer by 17%.
An eight ounce steak is 225g.
The WHO said its findings were important for
helping countries give balanced dietary advice.
Prof Tim Key, from the Cancer Research UK and
the University of Oxford, said: “This decision
doesn’t mean you need to stop eating any red
and processed meat, but if you eat lots of it you
may want to think about cutting down.
“Eating a bacon bap every once in a while isn’t
going to do much harm – having a healthy diet is
all about moderation.”
The industry body the Meat Advisory Panel said
“avoiding red meat in the diet is not a protective
strategy against cancer” and said the focus
should be alcohol, smoking and body weight.
